Based in Monmouthshire, the Hogs Head is a gold mine of creativity for wedding photographers with complete freedom to capture stunning wedding photographs. The venue is spread out over a lovely countryside setting, with the ability to privately hire the venue to yourself all day. This is perfect for an intimate wedding surrounded by family and friends, without concerns of additional guests of the hotel appearing.
I was amazed when I was originally shown around, as every corner opens up into another glorious room, with the main reception area being a stunning canopy styled room, filled with natural light from the windows stretching the length of the room. The abundance of space provided at the Hogs Head and the traditional gypsy caravans called the "Hog Pods" providing ample opportunities for unique wedding photographs if it rains on the big day
The owner of the venue could not be any nicer, providing us with all the help you could need. He even became our temporary HLS (Human Light Stand) during Becky and Aaron's pre-wedding photoshoot.
Just before entering the main reception/ wedding breakfast area, you are greeted by a rustic country barn wedding ceremony are, with a log burning fire at the heart of the room. This gives a lovely warm feel to the room and makes you feel at home, lowering those pre-wedding nerves!
Just outside the main building there is a lovely little pond with a beautiful hand crafted bridge, which is perfect for some stunning reflection and floral photographs of the wedding couple.
And let's not forget the ceremony room with nice big windows letting loads of natural light flood in for some stunning couple photographs, even in the bad weather.
Remember that grand entrance I mentioned earlier? well it makes for a perfect night time creative couple photograph!
